Jose Mourinho about Mario Balotelli’s form
On his decision not to call up Balotelli and Quaresma for the Napoli clash, Mourinho explained: “If a player trains at twenty-five percent of his potential in the week, it’s not enough for me. I don’t hide behind my decisions, not even in the case of Quaresma, who I brought to Inter.
“I don’t give privileges to anybody, I make the best decisions for the team. But I have a quality: I am prepared to forget. If from Tuesday onwards those who weren’t called up show me what I expect of them, there won’t be any problems for me and you saw this with Adriano who returned against Juventus and did well after being left out for a few matches.”
Last informations says that he could go to Bologna on loan.
Balotelli doesn’t want to know his birth parents
Mario Balotelli dont want to talk about his biological parents, saying: “I dont know them!”
The 18-year-old, who is one of Serie A’s most exciting raw talents, was born in Palermo to Ghanaian immigrants Thomas and Rose Barwuah.
However, Mario was put up for adoption and at the age of three was legally entrusted to the Balotelli family.
Recently, his birth parents have appeared in newspapers stating their sadness at being unable to play a part in Balotelli’s life and these stories have infuriated the talented youngster.
“I want to make some things clear regarding the comments of Thomas and Rose Barwuah, my biological parents,” Super Mario wrote on his personal website.
“They have talked of two people forced to give their child up for adoption due to poverty. This is false because nobody forced them to leave me at the hospital as a newborn baby and to disappear in the years that followed.
“I have been a foster child in the Balotelli family since the age of two and every two years I have had to renew that agreement in court.
“Why is that? Because the Barwuahs, who are pictured in the newspapers with a photo of me in an Inter shirt looking sad, never asked to have me back.
“For 16 years I didn’t even receive a phone call on my birthday, but now they make contact after I have become a Serie A footballer.
“There is no bond between us and in my eyes they are just strangers,” Balotelli concluded emphatically.
Balotelli: I’m the no.1!
Mario Balotelli’s double put Italy in the European Under-21 Championship and he’s not short on confidence. “We’re better than everyone!”
The Azzurrini were hanging in the balance after their first leg 0-0 draw with Israel, a game that Balotelli missed due to a bout of influenza.
He returned with a bang, bagging a first half brace to inspire the 3-1 victory in Tel Aviv.
“I feel very happy in this squad, as it is a group of good lads. We are better than everyone, not just Israel,” assured the Inter star.
“In the Championship in Sweden there will be some entertaining times, as nobody is better than us.”
Italy secured the victory despite missing Sebastian Giovinco, Claudio Marchisio, Daniele Dessena, Giuseppe Rossi, Fabiano Santacroce and Marco Andreolli.
However, despite netting three goals in as many caps for the Under-21 side and being the youngest player there aged just 18, Balotelli isn’t entirely happy.
“I scored two good goals, but I also wasted a counter-attack that even my pet dog would’ve scored…
“I hear that in Italy the newspapers are spreading some ugly rumours about me. I am not going to ask them to stop, but I will point out I am not going partying with any television stars, as I have a girlfriend called Sofia.
“Also the only reason I was unable to play against Israel on Saturday was because I was ill.” (C4)
Why Balotelli couldn’t become Italian citizen before 18th birthday
Inter star Mario Balotelli couldn’t get Italian citizenship until he turned 18 and his biological parents explain why.
The youngster of Ghanaian descent has lived with his foster family in Brescia since he was two years old and considers them to be his only relatives.
He fought tooth and nail to play for the Azzurri, but had to wait until he came of age in August, because his adoption was never made official.
“We arrived in Italy in 1988,” revealed his birth mother, Rose Barwuah, in the Corriere della Sera.
“We lived with another African family in a one-bedroom apartment full of damp. I went to the social services and pointed out I had a sick child.
“There were no houses for us, so they told me it would be better to hand Mario to a local family for a while.”
The striker was born on August 12, 1990 in Palermo and has always said he feels himself to be 100 per cent Italian, dropping the Barwuah from his surname.
“The social services put us in contact with the Balotelli family. I spoke to Mario often and took him home at the weekends so he could stay with his brothers,” added father Thomas Barwuah.
“However, things changed as the years wore on. We do not care that he is now famous and we’re not after money. Thankfully, we have enough.
“All we want is that he remembers we are his parents, too. Tell the Inter Coach, Jose Mourinho, to look after Mario like a son. It’s what he needs.
“We would like to tell Mario that we have always loved him and are enormously grateful to the Balotelli family for raising him.
“But we’d also want an emotional connection with our son. Above all, we wish to state that we didn’t ‘give away’ our child. Things happened in a way that probably even Mario doesn’t know about.” (C4)
Balotelli scores for U21
Mario Balotelli scores only goal for Italy U21 in match against Greece.
Inter’s superstar, Super Mario, scored a beautiful goal even the match finished 1-1.
For his debut, here is what he tell us:
“I am very happy with the goal, less so for the result, but that is part of football. Both teams played well and on a personal level I am fairly content, although one can always do better.”
“In the first half I thought my shot was on target, but it was just off. The overhead kick came out well, but unfortunately not quite well enough!
“My Serie A goal was great, although if you play enough games in the top flight you’re bound to score. The Italy goal was special as I waited so long and passionately wanted to wear this shirt.
“These are different things and two great sensations.”
“When you play with figures of this quality, it all becomes easier. We got on right away and I settled very quickly.”
